The next walkabout for the Club will be on Sunday 16th March at Healesville Sanctuary.
Here we will walk around the large grounds of the Zoo and take photos of the numerous wildlife within the park.
At 12pm and 3pm is the Spirts of the Sky – a spectacular bird flight show. This will be a great chance to test out your bird photography. See how well you can capture the beautiful birds as they fly from one side of the arena to another! Speed settings will be your best friend here.
There is lots to see and photograph, so make sure you put this in our diary!
The Zoo opens at 9am – we will meeting by the front gates at 9.30am.
You don’t have to buy tickets beforehand, but it might be easier to do so. Here is the link: https://www.zoo.org.au/healesville . Of course if you are a zoo member, Healesville is included in your membership.
As always, if you plan to come along, please let me know so I know to keep an eye out for you.
If you need a lift, or can supply a lift, please let me know and I will facilitate wherever I can.
Remember to bring along:
- Camera, batteries and cards.
- Good walking shoes.
- A mono pod could be helpful, but not essential.
- A range of lenses – you will want a “normal” lens for general shooting – say a 24-70mm or similar, but you may want a zoom lens for the birds – say 200mm plus.
I look forward to seeing you there!
